Collage: I made a collage of my two favorite characters in my favorite show, on a blue, water color background splattered with white acrylic paint. I added a quote of banter between the two from my favorite episode at the top, it reads, "Is that a promise, Snow Bunny?". While making this I learned how to easily cut out small details using the Exact-o knife, as well as how to properly use Modge Podge. Paint: I made a calligraphy canvas painting with strips of ombred acrylic paint. I learned how to use painters tape and how to get a semi perfect ombre on the first try. Drawing/Graphite: This was a sketch that I made of two other characters from my favorite show, and I decided to include myself by making it look like I was a character in the show as well. While creating this I learned how to properly sketch and how to get proportions accurate.
Themes
Things We Fear: I made a collage of a child's bed with glowing red eyes and monster hands peaking out from underneath on a watercolor black/navy blue background. This one did not go as I had hoped. When I went to put the Modge Podge over top of the pictures, the color from the background started coming off onto the pictures. So, next time I will use acrylic paint or colored paper for the background. Persuade Me: I made a T-shirt hoping to persuade people that Loki in Avengers Infinity War is alive. I used my mom's Cameo machine to create a template that I could then etch onto some iron on vinyl. Identity: I made a collage of a computer setup featuring writers block (When you can't think of what to write next) on the screen. This time, I used a black piece of construction paper as the background instead of painting a white piece of paper.
Final Projects
Final 1: I made a collage of all my favorite Disney characters. My theme for this series was "The Many Phases Of Me", hens my favorite Disney characters Final 2: I made a collage of edits (Some of which I made) of characters from my favorite show. These edits are just pictures from episodes and something funny in the caption below them (Some of which aren't related to the show at all) Final 3: I made a collage based off of one of my favorite youtuber's songs called "Monster". It features the writer of the song (Gabbie Hanna) and a monster I placed to kind of act as her shadow. I also wrote down a lyric from the song with a quill, it says "Maybe I'm the monster that's been here all along."
Paragraph
In Art 1, I learned the value of making a good plan before jumping into a project, as well as various techniques such as sketching, shading, and much more. I could never figure out how to get proportions right on my human drawings, but thanks to this class, I now know how to properly sketch and get proportions right on my sketches. I think this piece of learning will stick with me, as well as the proper amount of Modge Podge, and how to safely use an exact o knife. I am very proud of the sketch that I made of me and two other characters from my favorite show and I am also proud of the collage that I made of my two favorite characters from my favorite show. The series of work that I made for my final can tell you a lot about my personality and my interests as a person. From this series you can tell that I love Disney and anime, as well as scary/gory things. I am a bit of a child at heart, but told that I am more mature than most 20-30 year olds.
